Cobot lifting column

7th-axis vertical lift

A cobot lifting column is a powered vertical axis mounted under the robot base or cell structure. It expands the working envelope for palletizing, tall fixtures, trays or machine access, but it also adds payload, stiffness, safety and cycle-time checks to the integration scope.

BotNots does not publish a universal lifting-column stroke because useful travel depends on pallet height, fixture layout, floor anchoring, robot model, tooling, cable routing and safety concept. Treat it as an engineered cell option.

Why it matters

A lifting column can make tall pallets or multi-level part presentation feasible with a smaller collaborative robot, but it is not just an accessory. The added moving axis must be included in reach analysis, guarded or monitored motion, cable management, floor loading and acceptance testing.
