Repeatability

Repeatability describes how closely a robot can return to the same position under the same programmed conditions. In cobot specifications it is usually expressed in millimetres, such as +/-0.03 mm, and it is different from absolute accuracy, which measures closeness to a commanded real-world coordinate.

The current BotNots comparison table lists repeatability values from +/-0.02 mm to +/-0.1 mm across the compared cobot models. These are manufacturer-sourced screening values and still depend on the complete cell setup.

Why it matters

Repeatability affects welding path consistency, machine loading, inspection, assembly and packaging quality. A tight value is useful only when tooling, fixtures, part presentation and process forces are also controlled, so the application context matters as much as the datasheet number.
